Trading safely
Almost every problem on a marketplace comes down to the same handful of situations. These are they.
-
Meet in public
Somewhere busy, in daylight, and bring someone with you for anything valuable. Plenty of police stations offer their car park for exactly this.
-
Check before you pay
Handle the item, turn it on, look for the damage the photos did not show. If a seller will not let you, that is your answer.
-
Never pay in advance
Not by bank transfer, not by gift card, not by cryptocurrency, and not for anything you have not seen. Money sent that way is gone.
-
Be wary of moving off the site
Someone pushing hard to continue on WhatsApp before you have even seen the item usually has a reason for wanting no record of it.
-
Distrust an unusually good price
It is the single most reliable warning sign there is. Nobody sells a phone worth 500 for 150 out of kindness.
-
Never share a verification code
Not with a buyer, not with a seller, not with anyone who calls claiming to be us. We will never ask you for one.
If something goes wrong
Use the Report link on any ad or comment. It reaches a moderation queue our team works through, and the person you reported is never told who filed it. If you have lost money, report it to your local police as well — we can share what we hold with them, but we cannot recover funds ourselves.
